It dates from the middle of the 2nd century, and was discovered at 8-10 rue du Temple, Bordeaux, in 1848.

The Trial in Paris was discovered at the base of the Roman wall in Bordeaux.

Depicted on the two limstone blocks is a famous trial held in Paris to determine the most beautiful of goddesses. To the left is Juno (Hera), veiled. On the right, Minerva (Athena) with helmeted spear and shield. It lacks a third carved stone block that would feature Venus (Aphrodite).
