Key People
The Western Han Dynasty was regarded as the first truly unified and powerful empire in chinese history. Established by "Lui Bang" or later know "Emperor Gaozu" following his four years in the civil war started by peasants uprising against the Qin Dynasty. Characteristics of the Western Dynasty were there achievements in agriculture, handicrafts, industry and commerce. Iron smelting was carried out on a production level and steal was made using coal as fuel, and they began to work with Hydraulics. Over all the han dynasty was a age of economic prosperity which saw an incredible growth in its money economy.
