A Letter, Stating the True Site of the Ancient Colony of Camulodunum
Camulodunum is the Roman name for the ancient settlement of what is today called Colchester, Essex, UK. It is believed that the Romans thought Camulodunum to be the oldest town in England. It existed as a Celtic settlement before the Roman conquest.
Richard Colt Hoare was an English archaeologist, antiquarian, artist and traveller. His letter on Camulodunum was first published in 1827.
