Blood From The Mummy's Tomb

Blood From The Mummy's Tomb
by Seth Holt
Adapated from Bram Stoker's novel The Jewel of Seven Stars, this stylish Hammer Horror film was director Seth Holt's last picture - he died from a heart attack on set five weeks into filming.
It sees the mummy movie genre given a slight twist, as it casts a female - the voluptuous Valerie Leon - in the role of the ancient undead Egyptian, Queen Tera. Unsurprisingly, the normal garb of bandages is dropped in favour of getting as much of Leon's bare flesh in the film as possible.
It's the forth in a cycle of four mummy films by Horror Productions that began in 1959 with The Mummy, and shows some impressive flashes in its photography and acting, despite an ultra-low budget.
