Miroslav Barta

Miroslav Barta is the Czech Republic's leading Egyptologist, and works for the Czech Institute of Egyptology at Prague's famous Charles University. He has conducted several excavations in Egypt - most recently in the modern town of Abusir, about 25 miles outside Cairo. Barta has written a wealth of books on ancient Egypt, including one detailing the famous Egyptian Story of Sinuhe with regards to archaeology and the Bible. Barta retains a passion for his discipline with a youthful exhuberance - noting that, 'every day, every minute you can discover new things.'

A team from the Czech Institute of Egyptology have made a rare find at Abusir near Cairo - an intact burial chamber, containing the remains of an Old Kingdom priest, dating back 4,500 years.
