Machina – Technology from Ancient Rome

The exhibition puts on display more than 100 examples of Roman technology, including archaeological finds, virtual reconstructions and scale models of mechanisms and machines.

This educational exhibition tells the story of how the success of the Roman Empire was due not only to its political organisation, but also to the engineering skills of the Romans.

The exhibition's organisers claim it is the first time that the machines that contributed to the construction and rule of the empire will be on public display.
