Archaeology of Race: The Roman Frontier

Divya P. Toli-Kelly (University of Durham) will talk about the exhibition An Archaeology of Race, which was displayed at two museums in Carlisle and Newcastle near Hadrian’s Wall in 2009. This exhibition explored the archaeological materials and narratives that reflected multi-cultural Roman Britain and explored the artefacts left by different people stationed on Hadrian’s wall, in particular military units from provinces in North Africa.
