This is a copy of the no. 2 bronze chariot from the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang. The original was discovered 20 metres to the west of the mausoleum in 1978. Two bronze chariots have been uncovered at the mausoleum, made from about 3400 different pieces of bronze each. In addition 1720 pieces of gold and silver have been foudn that were used to ornament the chariots. The chariots are the largest items of bronze ware found in the world. Chariot no. 2 is oval-shaped with a covering on the top, and an outside seat for the driver to sit on. It has openable windows and doors and measures 3.17 metres long by 1.06 metres high. The bronze horses attached are between 65 and 67 cm high and 120cm long. The combined weight of the chariot and horses is 1234 kg.
