The British Museum's Egyptian Sculpture Gallery was packed last night, as hundreds of dignitaries flocked to see The World's Most Famous Archaeologist (copyright all bloggers) Dr Zahi Hawass, speaking ahead of the release of his latest book A Secret Voyage. Cameras in hand, Heritage Key was there to witness Dr Hawass' appearance, heralded more like the second coming than a book signing.

Celebrities to Talk about British Museum Treasures for BBC Radio Series

A host of celebrities will speak about their favourite British Museum treasures in a mammoth hundred-part series for BBC Radio. A History of the World in 100 Objects will air its first episode on January 18 next year, when a century of historical items will get their 15 minutes of fame thanks to some of Britain's biggest names. The series is expected to rake in around two million listeners daily for Radio 4, with weekday slots of 9.45am, 7.45pm and 12.30am. The objects will run the gamut of human history, from two million years ago to the present day.

Reception & Lecture at the British Museum

Tuesday, 8th of December Dr. Zahi Hawass - probably the world's most famous Egyptologist - will speak at a special lecture in the British Museum's lecture theatre, after a reception in the Egyptian Sculpture Gallery. The lecture - where 600 of you will get the chance to hear Dr Hawass tell about his work - is organized by Heritage World Press and the British Egyptian Society to celebrate the launch of the SCA's Secretary General's new book.
