Book publishing has come a long way since I was a kid. Boring ancient history books with way too much text and Egypt books full of pyramids and Tutankhamun and not much else. Did we get anything on India? Nope. China? Nope. Anything interactive that didn't involve colouring in a mask or building a pyramid? Nope. Any fiction based on ancient fact? Not a jot.
Kids today just don't know how good they've got it. In the UK, Usborne are the leader of the pack with a wonderful range of interactive – and fun! – books for kids of all ages. Colourful and artistic internet-linked encyclopedias, 'see inside' flap books, books on Greek myths and legends, and much more.
