Key People

Shaun Greenhalgh

One of several reliquaries made by Shaun Greenhalgh. He stated that this one - in the style of a gold reliquary from the Battle Abbey estate, 17th century - had been bought by his great-grandfather at the Battle of Abbey sale in 1901 and contained a piece of the shirt worn by Charles I at his execution. Another reliquary allegedly contained a piece of wood from the cross on which Jesus was crucified.
