Heritage Key at the British Museum's Egyptological Colloquium 2009

It's one of the highlights of the Egyptological year, and Heritage Key will be right there in the field a comfortable conference room, getting the latest news, views and highlights from the British Museum's Egyptological Colloquium 2009 next Tuesday and Wednesday (21-22 July).

Sean and Ann will be meeting, greeting and admiring some of the world's greatest minds on the study of ancient Egypt, as they head to Britain's biggest museum for a vast series of lectures and discussions on everything about the famous Book of the Dead. (official title: The Egyptian Book of the Dead: recent research and new perspectives.)

We'll be bringing you blogs on our adventures (anything from major historical coups to the top ten cupcakes), articles on the event's top breakthroughs and discoveries, interviews with experts and attendees - and a special encyclopedic article summing up all the goings-on at the two day-long gathering.

Twitter, Facebook, Flickr: There are plenty of ways to follow Heritage Key at the Colloquium

You can follow us as we give you the latest scoops via our Twitter (Ann/Sean) and Facebook (Ann/Sean) accounts, and you can see all of our photos the second we add them to the Heritage Key Flick group pool. Of course, if you're going too, let us know in the comments and add your conference snapshots to the group on Flickr. You could well have your photos take pride of place, and could even find your views making their way to our homepage. If you see us passing by at the conference, do say an elaborate 'Hi!' Exstensive research has shown that we tend to respond positively at questions such as: 'Do you want some coffee?', 'Can you take my picture?' and 'Who ate all the cupcakes?'

Of course we'll be profiling all of the colloquium's speakers, as well as inducting those not in the know about the Book of the Dead with exerpts, articles, artefacts and great personalities - all cornered in our huge banks of knowledge. So sit back and follow Heritage Key next week, as we bombard you with innovation and discovery from the frontline of Egyptology!

Live Updates

Coming soon; watch this space!
(Logic tells us it's impossible to feed 'live updates' from an event, as long as the event itself is not live yet.)

Of course, EC2009 is over now, but Sean wrote up his Top 10 Facts about the Book of the Dead.
