Archaeologists excavating a 9,000 square metre area at Angers, in the Loire District, France, have discovered the remains of the first mithraeum – a sanctuary dedicated to the Indo-Iranian god Mithras – in the west of France.
Roman 'Crosby Garrett' Cavalry Helmet to go under Christie's Auction Hammer
The cavalry helmet was discovered in Cumbria – found complete with face mask – and is only the fifth known example discovered in the United Kingdom. It will go on auction at Christie, with Carlisle's Tullie House Museum bidding for the £200,000 artefact.
